Knobl un Honik Kolektiv, which translates to “Garlic and Honey Collective”, is a creative and non-judgmental home for inter-generational Yiddish events, programs, and space creation. We aim to carve out a space for our diversity, through valuing the sacred stories and wisdom of each person. We have big dreams around housing, food, language, land relationships, and supporting each other and our communities through life transitions, that we work towards in a way that is explorative and sometimes slow.
Bisel a bisel.
This project is shepherded by shif, a Yiddishist, enabler, and grief steward who loves their bicycle. The Knobl un Honik community has people of many ages, family types, and Yiddish levels (mostly beginners!). You can get involved by helping with the garden, participating in our quarterly Farbreng shmuez in partnership with Yugntruf, or joining, initiating, or helping to organize events.
To get involved with Knobl un Honik Kolektiv, the first step is to sign up for the mailing list, where community updates and event invites are sent. You may use the button below or email knoblunhonik@proton.me.
The goal of the Kolektiv is to enable folks to be active and showcase the amazing work of our community. Don’t be shy to propose a project or ask how you can help out. Join us in learning and caring for the abundant, diverse, and beautiful world of Yiddish!
Yiddish can be a home for all of us, because, and only if, it is created by all of us.
